Annual 30th International Fiesta

International Fiesta

The Homes Cultural Diversity Center (HCDC) and the World Neighbors Association (WNA) are excited to announce that we are brining back the International Fiesta after 2 years on Saturday, April 2nd.

The annual International Fiesta held on the Drill Field from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm brings international cultures and traditions from around the world to Starkville and Mississippi State University. Starting with the parade of flags, the day is filled with colorful expressions of traditional clothing, displays, entertainment, and cuisine.

People from the university, Starkville, or neighbor towns can sit and watch the authentic songs, music, and dance from all corners of the globe. They can take the time to go around various booths representing different countries and cultures to purchase the amazing cuisine with unique spices and textures, enjoy the display booths that provide insight to each country’s culture, and engage in conversations. Children of all ages are invited to visit the “children’s area”. There are numerous games, activities and learning centers and, of course, inflatables to use up some excess energy. The International Fiesta is an opportunity to learn and make friends. It is so important in our globalized society to understand each other – what better way than talking together.

There are 4 ways (1. Booth, 2. Performance, 3. Contest (Food / Display, 4. Flag Parade) for people to be part of the International Fiesta as well. If you are interested, please visit our online modules on Canvas to receive more information about the event and instructions to submit registration forms from there.
